The Silverbac 2.0 XL cooking chamber is much larger, featuring 1644 sq in across three grate layers. The standard Silverbac has 692 sq in—nearly 1000 sq in less. The 2.0 XL moves grease management inside the body to deter wildlife and keep the area cleaner. Sliding oven-style racks improve access; built-in rack jacks hold the main grate while you clean the burn pot and barrel. A special outdoor-kitchen built-in integrates the grill and hopper into the cabinetry (not perched atop a cabinet like the standard unit).
Updated barrel and handle with added grip, wider wheelbase for stability, and a redesigned hopper holding up to 33 lbs of pellets (+13 lbs). Ships with Alpha Connect 2.0 (previously Mammoth-only). Includes an updated smokestack and stainless steel accessory pack.
Yes— it includes the Alpha Connect 2.0 Controller, showing set/live/probe temps, timers, and mode simultaneously with Pro Smoke & PID modes.
Watch this video—the grill shown is a Mammoth, but the controller feature set is identical.
See this explainer. TempTamer reduces temperature drop when you open the lid during a cook.
Yes— raise the heat above 450°. For pronounced marks, consider Grill Grates for the Silverbac.
Absolutely— all our pellet grills include a double wall internal steel thermal jacket, up to ~33% more efficient below 55°F than single-wall designs.
No— the built-in double wall thermal jacket provides all the cold-weather performance you need, without blanket hassle.

Run the grill for 45 minutes at 450° to burn off residual oils, then shut down or start cooking. See the manual or this video.
Any food-grade wood pellets work. We recommend quality hardwood pellets over alder. For tips, search our blog.
At ~250°, pellets burn ~1 lb/hour. With a 33 lb hopper expect roughly 30 hours at that temperature.
Pellet grilling generally yields lower-calorie, lower-fat results than pan-frying or deep-frying the same foods.
Pellets move from the hopper to a firepot via an auger; an igniter starts the flame and a fan circulates heat and smoke for convection cooking. The Alpha Connect 2.0 controller automates the process.
